It takes a special place to craft the Official Bat of Major League Baseball. Since 1884, Louisville Slugger has put prime lumber in the hands of the greatest players of the game. A visit to the museum shows you how the sport has changed a bit between then and now, but the "crack of the bat" remains one of the sporting world's most thrilling moments.
> Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown! Nov. 1 thru Jan. 4
Open November 1, 2009 through January 4, 2010, Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown! is sure to get your family into the holiday spirit as the Peanuts gang reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas.
This heartwarming exhibition pays tribute to the 1965 classic television special, A Charlie Brown Christmas. The merriment includes a behind-the-scenes history of this animated gem, and artifacts used in the production, along with a look at all of the winter sports that Charlie Brown and the gang so enjoyed. The show also explores how and why Charles M. Schulz wove religious themes into his Peanuts strips, a controversial practice at times. The exhibit is organized by the Charles M. Schulz Museum of Santa Rosa, CA.
In addition to the comic strips, a continuous showing of A Charlie Brown Christmas, memorabilia and more, Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown! also features plenty of fun hands-on activities for your family.
